We spent most of last week repairing the fences around the garden. Straightening the fences, sealing holes and making sure the fence looked solid enough to keep the rabbits out was quite an exercise. And we are not even half done!

We also put strings on all six trellises. We pulled down old strings and put new ones on the trellises. They all look ready for tomato and bean vines to grow on.
We decided to take a break from fencing on Friday. Instead, we dug a compost pit. We divided the pit into three parts, the first will contain fresh compost collected from the 1837 kitchen, the second will hold decomposing compost and the third will contain decomposed compost, good to be used as fertilizers.
Allison works it out.
Tada!
I went to check on the seeds we planted in the greenhouse last week and was pleased to see that all of them, except tomatoes, have started to sprout. So exciting! We're hoping to have the the plots tilled by the beginning of next week so we can expose the seedlings to the real world!
Looking forward to another week of hard work, successes and, no doubt, a couple of failures.

You guys seem to be doing a really good job, and the screaming sprout- "leme out!" is cute. Bet she is now enjoying the earth's open air. :)
The sprouts are my favorite! Adorable!
THIS IS THE BEST INTERNSHIP EVER! Savor the days, you'll be harvesting before you know it. You three look like you're having fun and working hard already. I'll visit in September!
